$10,000 Grand Prize, $1,000 1st Prize, $500 2nd Prize, Plus numerous other prizes

Raffle tickets are $5 each and are available at area business, at the info booth, and from GM Lion's Club Members around town.

Tickets are limited so buy them early.

Pickup and Dropoff Spots are at

Cook County High School (where there is also free parking), Gateway Lodge,

The Rec Park Office and the intersection of Broadway and Wisconsin St.

 Open Log Rolling and Sawmilling all day between Lumberjack Exhibitions
Lumberjack Exhibitions/Performances:

Sawmilling Demonstrations, Log Rolling, Cross-cut Sawing, Chopping, Stock Chain Sawing, Axe Throwing, Timber History and Renewable Resource Presentation

 Lumberjack Contests: 

Professional Stock Saw, Cross Cut Saw, Axe Throw

Over $1,000 in cash and Prizes

Log Rolling Tournaments:

Grand Marais Team, Amateur, and Professional Tournaments to be held on Saturday

 US Log Rolling Association Sanctioned Tournament.  $2,500 in Prize money
 
 
Big Fish Contest
Sponsored by Buck's Hardware Hank
Contest Dates: July 30th- August 6th
Prizes are $100 for First, $75 for Second, and $50 for Third for each of six categories; walleye, northern, small mouth bass, lake trout, salmon and brook trout.
Fisherman's Picnic Activity Button required and fish must be entered no later than 9:00pm on August 6th at Buck's Hardware Hank.
 
 
GM Lion's Men's Slow Pitch Softball Tournament
Saturday, Aug. 6th & Sunday, Aug. 7th
Team Entry Fee of $120
There is a maximum of 28 teams and each team is guaranteed 3 games.
Games start at 8:00am on Saturday at the High School, Pappy Wright and Rec Park Fields
Finals are on Sunday at 4:00pm at the Rec Park Field

Craft Show
First Rate Craft Show featuring local and traveling vendors who present their crafts throughout the streets of town.

Starts August 4th at Noon and continues all weekend at the Bingo Tent in the American Legion parking lot.  Good Luck!

Features Lake Superior Herring hand breaded and served on a bun.  They are so great they even have their own song.........

North Shore Ski and Run Club's Trail Run
Saturday Aug. 6th
7:30-8:50am Registration on race morning at Pincushion Mountain Area Trail Head (2 miles up Gunflint Trail).
9:00am Pre-teen Runs, 9:45am 5 mile run/walk, and 9:50am 3 mile non-competitive walk
Awards given for winner of each category.
Entry Fee: $20 prior to race day. $25 on race day.  Kids $10.
Fee includes T-shirt for pre-registration only.

Fisherman's Picnic Parade
Sunday Aug. 7th, Setup starts at 11:00am at the High School parking lot.  All units must be present and checked in by 12:30 to be eligible for the parade. 
A Fisherman's Picnic button is required to enter. 
The parade begins at 1:00pm and will travel south on Broadway then west on Wisconsin Street.

Held at the Rec Hall at the Grand Marais Rec Park

Walk-ins welcome day of camp, but come at 8:30 to get registered. 
Bring a bag lunch and proper clothing for a day of indoor and outdoor activities.
Fun fish theme activities with program material provided by MN DNR MnAqua program.
